Author Angela Stanton's Don't Ask, Just Tell Stop the Silence Campaign
Reality TV Stars from BET Network 'Neffe & Frankie Show' Join forces with Author Angela Stanton for Don't Ask, Just Tell Stop the Silence 'Spring Fling' Celebration.
- Atlanta, GA (1888PressRelease) April 20, 2011 - Nonprofit organization "Don't Ask, Just Tell" Stop the Silence along with reality TV stars Neffe and Soullow from BET's 'FRANKIE & NEFFE' show to host "Spring Fling" E.M.B.R.A.C.E. Life. As they spring forward for youth in group homes in the metro Atlanta area on April 23rd from 10 - 2pm at the Collier Heights Park and Recreation Center at 3691 Collier Drive.
In Georgia there are over 100,000 youth who have experienced violence, abuse or abandonment. These children need to know that there are compassionate people out in our neighborhoods that will step forward and make a commitment for change. A commitment that reality TV star dual Neffe & Soullow, author and founder of "Don't Ask, Just Tell" Stop the Silence Angela Stanton, King for America's founder Dr. Alveda King (the niece of the slain Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.), will all come together for Spring Fling in an effort to spread awareness.
"The children in these homes do not have an opportunity to experience Spring Break like many of the children they go to school with. Spring Fling is my way of creating a celebration to give the kids a taste of family, laughter and life. I'm really happy to have Dr. Alveda King from King for America and Neffie and her husband Soullow unite with me to help bring awareness to these issues." States Stanton.
ABOUT: Don't Ask Just Tell, Stop the Silence was established by author Angela Stanton and is a nonprofit organization under section 501 (c) (3) of the internal revenue code. Designed to promote awareness about child abuse and provide a variety of services to abused victims. "Don't Ask, Just Tell" is dedicated to promoting awareness about child abuse and the social impact through speaking and educational workshops in churches and communities. We develop after school and summer programs tailored to help abused women and children.
Resources and referrals are available for women who have been abused. We have staff available to assist single mothers coming out of prison by helping them create a stable environment. We provide job training and work readiness in an effort to prepare imprisoned women for society, ensuring that they are productive. We provide consoling with licensed and pastoral counselors; 95 % of our staff are also "Survivors" providing a comfortable atmosphere. We don't sympathize at Don't Ask Just Tell; we empathize.
