One of the most exciting orchestral initiatives in Australia, the Australian World Orchestra's (AWO) vision is simple: to bring together Australia's finest classical musicians from around the world to form one of the countries's most electrifying orchestras.
- (1888PressRelease) August 03, 2011 - The inaugural AWO concerts will consist of three concerts at the Sydney Opera House from 26th to 28th August 2011, one concert at Parramatta Riverside theatre on 29th August 2011 and an Education Program, including 'open' rehearsals, master classes and performance opportunities.
The AWO will be conducted by internationally acclaimed conductors Simone Young, Brett Dean and Alexander Briger and will feature some extraordinarily talented soloists, including William Barton, Cheryl Barker, Elizabeth Campbell, Steve Davislim, Teddy Tahu Rhodes and the beautiful voices of the Philharmonia Choirs and the Gondwana Voices.
The Australian World Orchestra season is not just a series of concerts but a history-making event.
