- (1888PressRelease) July 10, 2011 - A delegation from the Australian Football League and members of the Australian media recently visited Israel to meet with the 13-member Israeli and Palestinian team known as the Peace Team, as they prepare for the August 2011 AFL International Cup in Australia, in which 24 countries will compete.
The members of the delegation, including Australian footballer and AFL Peace Team Coach Robert "Dipper" DiPierdomenico, AGE journalist Martin Flanagan and FOX sports reporter Tiffany Cherry, took time out of their schedule to relax in Mineral Beach and Biankini Beach in the Dead Sea, where they smeared themselves with the famous black Dead Sea mud and floated in the salty waters. And, of course, they all voted for the Dead Sea in the finals of the New7Wonders of Nature online campaign (www.new7wonders.com)
Australian natural sites Uluru and great barrier reef are among the Dead Sea tuff competitors in the campaign.
The Dead Sea is one of the finalists in the Seven Natural Wonders of the World campaign.
