Australian Designer Jessica Van Handpicked by CAAFD to Debut her Scientifically Fashionable Collection During New York Fashion Week 2017
Australian Fashion designer Jessica Van is set to show that science and fashion go hand in hand in her debut New York Fashion Week 2017 showcase.
- New York, NY (1888PressRelease) August 27, 2016 - It is not often that you find a designer with a logical mind and creative spirit, but that is what makes Jessica Van an oddity in the best possible way. Jessica Van, a one-time scientist turned fashion provocateur, is counting down the days until her New York Fashion Week debut on September 11, 2016 at 1 PM as part of a collective showcase at the ArtBeam, the site of many fashion notables, such as Tracey Reese, Christian Siriano, Zimmerman, Vivienne Hu and was the site for the charitable fashion event Jeffrey Fashion Cares. But do not let her past in science fool you, she is a designer with skills that can rival top fashionistas, with "one of a kind" being a key mission statement.
Approaching fashion with an eye trained in science, Jessica Van and her designs are unlike anything the I'mpossible Challenge has showcased yet. The I'mpossible Challenge is always on the lookout for the unique, the bold, and those who challenge the rules, and Jessica Van challenges the rules more than most other designers. The spotlight deserves to be placed upon those that are most worthy, and the I'mpossible Challenge is happy to bring eyes to one as skilled as Jessica. Jessica Van initially was headed to the world of science, but ended up taking a right turn and ended up in the fashion world. Her designs take inspiration from the world around us, as a scientist would. Making use of fine details, motions and behaviours, Jessica Van's designs have an organic, explorative feel to them. Her showcase, sponsored by iFashion Network and CAAFD, will have a palpable anatomy, with sinews and tendon connecting every piece's story.
Like a scientist in a lab creating experiments that change the course of the future, Jessica Van's designs are just as groundbreaking. A boundless curiosity fuels her hands, constantly inspired by the beauty around us all, she seeks to revolutionize the fashion industry. Jessica Van hopes that this upcoming showcase will cement her legacy in the New York fashion world: "Science and fashion have quite a lot in common, more than you would think. I approach both with the scientific method (or fashion method, if you would prefer). I believe that my eye for detail and strive for perfection will make my designs synonymous with the beauty of the world around us, and exist like a living, breathing organism."
