Australian Cruise Group Takes Over the Helm of Ocean Spirit Cruises
The newly formed Australian Cruise Group, owners of Sydney Showboats and Magistic Cruises are pleased to announce the acquisition of the iconic Great Barrier Reef cruise company - Ocean Spirit Cruises on 26 October 2011.
- (1888PressRelease) November 19, 2011 - Ocean Spirit Cruises have been operating on the Great Barrier Reef for over 20 years offering two unique sailing experiences daily to Australia's magnificent marine park for diving, snorkelling and sailing.
Ocean Spirit Cruises was originally established by a local couple and has always taken pride in its commitment to environmentally sustainable tourism and higher standards of customer satisfaction at every guest touch point. Since 1995, Ocean Spirit Cruises has been under the ownership of Macro Corporation until the sale.
Ocean Spirit Cruises operate two large Australian built spacious sailing catamarans. The vessels are purpose built to appeal to the well-travelled international and domestic visitors. The company also operates a semi- submersible viewing vessel and glass bottom boat at the pristine Michaelmas Cay.
Ocean Spirit Cruises hold the largest permit to operate to Michaelmas Cay - the most important sea bird nesting sanctuary in the Southern Hemisphere. The nature talks on the beach by our experienced Marine Biologist are a highlight of the trip for many nature lovers.
