Austin Dentist Receives 2012 Fellowship Award from Academy of General Dentistry
The Academy of General Dentistry, a professional association of more than 37,000 general dentists dedicated to providing quality dental care and oral health education to the public, is pleased to announce that C. Mike Meek, DDS, FAGD of Austin, Texas received the association's 2012 Fellowship Award during the AGD 2012 Annual Meeting & Exhibits, held June 21-24, in Philadelphia.
- (1888PressRelease) July 05, 2012 - The Fellowship Award is presented to dentists who seek to provide the highest quality of dental care by remaining educated on the most current topics in their profession. To accomplish this goal, Dr. Meek completed 500 hours of continuing dental education, passed a difficult comprehensive exam, and fulfilled three years of continuous membership in the AGD.
As a recipient of the Fellowship Award, Dr. Meek joins growing ranks of AGD Fellows who understand that providing great smiles and good oral health for their patients are the result of going above and beyond basic requirements.
"We are proud to honor Dr. Meek for his commitment to the profession," says AGD President Jeffrey M. Cole, DDS, MBA, FAGD. "He has distinguished himself professionally among his peers and is a role model to both fellow dentists and to the members of the community."
Dr. Meek graduated from University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio in 1997 and currently practices dentistry in Central Austin at 38th Street Dental. When asked about the award, Dr.Meek responded, "For me, education and the pursuit of a greater understanding is the key to maintaining my enthusiasm for helping people and their smiles. Achieving this recognition simply acts to further energize my passion for dentistry!"
