Attorney Robert Francavilla Named to HeadNorth Board
Francavilla Will Serve a Two-Year Term on the Board of HeadNorth.
- San Diego, CA (1888PressRelease) March 24, 2012 - Robert Francavilla, a partner with the law offices of Casey Gerry, Schenk, Francavilla, Blatt and Penfield LLC, has been elected to the board of directors of HeadNorth, a Del Mar-based nonprofit dedicated to providing help and hope for spinal cord injury survivors.
Francavilla will serve a two-year term on the board of HeadNorth, which is focused on supporting and meeting the transitional needs of spinal cord injury survivors, as well as finding a cure for paralysis through research and grants. The organization is especially known for its Recover and Thrive programs, which help the injured and their families through the challenges of recovery to rehabilitation and reintegration into an active lifestyle.
Francavilla, who specializes in serious personal injury cases, has attained millions of dollars in settlements and verdicts for his clients over the years, including a case in which he attained an eight-figure settlement. Most recently, he helped achieve a nearly $5 million settlement for injured Mission Hills high school football player Scotty Eveland, who will require lifetime medical care.
In 2011, he was named one of the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego's Trial Stars, for work he did on Finley v. Club One, Inc., in which he helped obtain a $1.8 million jury verdict for injured client, David Finley. Francavilla, who has practiced law with Casey Gerry for 25 years, is also the lead counsel for the firm in cases that involve major highway design and automobile products liability.
He has received numerous accolades throughout his career, and has been honored by the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego with the "Outstanding Trial Lawyer Award" on five occasions. Additionally, he has been selected by his peers for inclusion in "Best Lawyers in America" (2008-2012), and "Super Lawyers" magazine has listed him as one San Diego's outstanding personal injury lawyers for the last five years, also naming him as one of the top 50 lawyers in San Diego. He was also named one of San Diego Magazine's 50 people to Watch for 2012.
Francavilla is a past president of the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego, and is a member of the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an organization comprised of the country's leading plaintiff and defense trial counsel.
A resident of Carmel Valley, he earned his bachelor's degree in business administration and his juris doctor degree from the University of San Diego.
