Attorney Eric McAliley Joins Lydecker Diaz as Partner

- Miami, FL (1888PressRelease) November 22, 2012 - Florida-based law firm Lydecker Diaz has added Eric McAliley as partner. Mr. McAliley focuses his practice on commercial litigation, construction and professional liability, with a focus on securities litigation and construction litigation.
Mr. McAliley's professional career has included more than a decade of legal experience to his representation of professionals and the construction industry. He brings with him education in accounting/tax and unique prior career experience in engineering with Pratt & Whitney and the South Florida Water Management District to bring added value to his legal work. His experience includes representing securities brokers-dealers, accountants and insurance agents.
He defends brokers and broker-dealers in securities arbitration proceedings before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), including claims of churning, selling away, suitability, "Blue Sky Laws" violations and state and federal claims arising from the relationship between securities brokers and their clients. Mr. McAliley also defends cases on behalf of clients involving issues of professional malpractice, negligence, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, and other common law and statutory claims. He focuses his construction practice on defect litigation for developers and builders.
Mr. McAliley is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States District Courts of Florida in the Middle District and in the Southern District. He is the recipient of Professor Emeritus Mandell Glicksberg Book Award in Property, Emmanuel Sheppard & Condon Book Award in Business Organizations, Book Award in Secured Transactions, and Book Award in Copyright Law.
Also, as a result of receiving the highest score on the August 1999 Florida Bar exam, Eric had the honor of speaking before the Supreme Court of Florida on behalf of the newly admitted attorneys.
Mr. McAliley is a member of The Florida Bar, Dade County Bar Association, including the Young Lawyers Section, Professional Liability Institute, and the American Bar Association. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting, magna cum laude, from Florida Atlantic University, and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida, College of Law, cum laude.
