Atos to offer cloud-based solutions for Public Sector
Strategic alliance with Microsoft to provide hosted communication and collaboration platform built on Windows Server and Hyper-V
- (1888PressRelease) September 26, 2011 - Atos, an international IT services company, will offer communication and collaboration services built on Microsoft Windows Server and Hyper-V hosted in Atos datacenters. The private cloud offerings are tailored specifically for public sector organizations that look for the benefits of Private Cloud, including compliance with national and government data security standards.
As a result of this strategic alliance, Atos will include Microsoft cloud technologies in its cloud portfolio, as well as using it for its internal IT. Similarly, Microsoft will work with and support Atos in Public Sector Private Cloud sales efforts, including providing sales, marketing and technical development expertise for joint offers with Atos.
The companies will develop the offerings using a two-stage approach. Early 2012, they plan to launch a number of distinctive offerings for Atos and Microsoft customers in the Public Sector in France. In the second phase, the aim is to extend the Atos offerings to meet customers’ future requirements, as well as into other European countries.
The benefits of this offering for Public Sector customers include: compliance with national and government data security standards; hosting in home country; Community Cloud, integrated national and European regulatory compliance and the possibility of additional services such as archiving, encryption and dedicated security rules.
