Aiken County sports fans are getting an early Christmas present. All subscribers to Atlantic Broadband's high-speed Internet service will have access to a plethora of sporting events for the holidays and beyond.
- Johnstown, PA (1888PressRelease) July 26, 2012 - On Wednesday, Atlantic Broadband will launch ESPN360.com, ESPN's 24/7 broadband sports network. At no additional cost to Internet customers, ESPN360.com offers more than 3,500 live, global sporting events annually.
"ESPN360.com is the perfect complement to our suite of ESPN video channels, offering sports fans the convenience of watching their favorite teams -- in fact, multiple games simultaneously -- online," Atlantic Broadband Vice President and General Manager Sam McGill said in a statement. "We are pleased to offer ESPN360.com, at no additional charge, for the many customers who contacted us with requests for this new service." Fans can immerse themselves in expanded coverage of traditional favorites. Football, baseball and basketball are all staples of the service's coverage, with professional and college games highlighted. ESPN360.com also offers a wide array of other popular sports. Soccer, lacrosse, X-Games and polo are some of the more unique events that will be available.
Extended coverage of golf and tennis' biggest events will also be available. Area viewers might see some familiar faces during extensive coverage of the Masters Tournament at Augusta National. Both the U.S. and British Open are also broadcast, as well as multi-court coverage of all four grand slam tennis events.
ESPN360.com isn't expected just to offer only more events, but also improved coverage of them. The service is supposed to provide reliable, high-quality video with the ability to pause, rewind and fast-forward live events. It has the ability to deliver up to 15 simultaneous live events, while recently completed events are archived and available for replay.
