Hardin Construction supports Homes for our Troops initiatives that provides free homes for disabled American veterans.
Atlanta, GA (1888PressRelease) March 18, 2011 - Atlanta-based Hardin Construction Company led a record-time, community home-build for wounded Army Staff Sergeant Jason Letterman recently in Hinesville, Georgia. Organized by the national, non-profit organization, Homes for Our Troops, an all-volunteer "Build Brigade" completed the 2,600-square-foot, single-level, specially adapted home in just 23 days, from slab to turnover-eclipsing the previous HFOT home-build record of 31 days. Hardin Construction orchestrated the efforts of 35 subcontractors and suppliers and their 240 crafts people as well as contributions by an army of community volunteers. SSG Letterman broke several bones, suffered liver lacerations and traumatic brain injuries and was left a double amputee following an IED explosion in Farasiyah, Iraq in May 2008. His new home-which has large door openings, wide hallways and a roll-in shower among its features-was presented to SSG Letterman, his wife and three sons during a key ceremony. Shown are Hardin Construction Company President Bill Pinto, SSG Letterman and his wife Elena.
