Athena School Of Management Ties Up With AVTEG To Deliver High-Quality Management Education In India

(1888PressRelease) November 28, 2012 - Mumbai-based Athena School of Management has forged an alliance with the Australian Vocational Training & Employment Group (AVTEG), an education consultancy headquartered in Perth, to co-develop the next generation of management courses for Indian business students and aspiring corporate leaders. The courses will be modeled on Australian best practices in management education, drawn through alliances with Australian educational institutions, but with an Indian ethos and context.

Athena's Project Director Aditya Singh and AVTEG CEO & MED Parampreet Singh signed an agreement on November 01, 2012 to formalize the partnership.

On the occasion, Parampreet Singh commented, "The association between AVTEG and Athena is to develop high quality management courses that are in sync with Australian curriculum and I am sure this alliance has a long way to go."
Aditya Singh noted, "The alliance between Athena and AVTEG will combine the best of both worlds - the rapidly evolving Indian business environment and the cutting edge curriculum from Australian management institutes. We foresee a long and successful partnership with each other."

AVTEG has already been working with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), a unique public-private partnership set up by the Ministry of Finance with a goal to develop a skilled workforce of 500 million Indians by 2022. The partnership with Athena will help AVTEG tap into the vast potential of private management education to achieve that goal.

Athena School of Management, a private business school, opened its first campus earlier this year at Powai, a suburb of Mumbai, with noted academician Dr. Sanchita Banerji as Dean of Academics and former KPMG Director Tirtha Sen as Academic Advisor. The school also boasts of an Advisory Council of corporate leaders from Standard Chartered, Citibank, Deutsch Bank, Food Corporation of India, Sterlite Industries and Todarwal & Todarwal. AVTEG's vast recourses and knowledge will greatly further Athena's core philosophy of practical management training for maximum employability.
