Kansas City, MO-KS (1888PressRelease) March 29, 2011 - Atchley Ford is proud to confirm that Ford is teaming up with AT&T so that drivers of the all-new Focus Electric can connect their cars to the AT&T wireless network.

The wireless connection will allow drivers to control their car settings when away from the car. Through the MyFord Mobile smartphone application, using the embedded AT&T wireless connection, Ford Focus Electric drivers will have the ability to send and receive data about their car, provide commands, and control vehicle settings while away from their vehicle.

The Mobile app will allow owners to remotely lock/unlock doors, find out the current projected state of charge information, receive alerts during recharge, use the built-in GPS system, and download performance and system data. The app will even give personalized information to the driver, depending on which key the driver uses.

The new Focus Electric will enter production at the Michigan Assembly Plant in late 2011. At the launch of the MyFord Mobile app, it will be available for most major smartphones, along with a mobile web application for compatibility with any phone supporting HTML-5 browser-based access.
