At New England 1:1 Summit, StudySync to Showcase Stellar Content for Schools with 1:1 Initiatives
Multimedia-based Supplemental Curriculum from BookheadEd Learning Supports Common Core, Points Way Toward Effective, Creative Use of Technology for Mobile Learning Environments.
- (1888PressRelease) March 07, 2012 - CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Many schools that have embarked on creating 1:1 learning environments possess the necessary hardware -- or have set about getting it - but often lack other tools designed to enable them to take full advantage of a mobile or 1:1 environment.
So says Jay King, co-founder of BookheadEd Learning, LCC, publisher of StudySync. The company will be exhibiting at the New England 1:1 Summit, to be held in Burlington on March 10.
"Curriculum is something that is often non-linear, extremely flexible, rich well beyond a typical classroom materials, and social, beyond simple annotation sharing," King says. "As part of the movement toward 1:1 learning environments, we're working with others to create the curriculum of the future, the content that will leverage today's technology and truly engage students. That may sound ambitious, but it's actually grounded in the reality of an increasing number of classrooms - classrooms where students and teachers are collaborating to create that very future. It's already happening, in bits and pieces, and sharing our experiences is why we'll be on hand at the New England 1:1 Summit."
WHAT: StudySync combines a digital library of hundreds of texts and writing prompts
with multimedia lessons and online writing and peer review - all tied to the Common Core Standards and all designed to motivate students to read and write more and at progressively higher levels. StudySync promotes literacy in all content areas, allows for differentiated instruction, and includes enhancements for English language learners.
The New England 1:1 Summit brings together educators, administrators, superintendents, and IT administrators from around and beyond the New England area. The event will showcase opportunities and ideas for creating a 1:1 learning environment. Sessions will demonstrate the effectiveness of this type of learning environment, and promote new and emerging tools for creating dynamic learning opportunities for students.
