Astech certified to revised ISO 9001:2015 standard
Astech Projects announce transition to revised ISO 9001:2015 standard.
- (1888PressRelease) August 09, 2017 - Leading systems integrator, and supplier of advanced robotics and automation solutions, Astech Projects are pleased to announce their recent transition to the revised international standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS) ISO 9001:2015 which replaces ISO 9001:2008.
ISO 9001 builds on seven management principles consisting of: Customer focus, Leadership, Engagement of people, Process approach, Improvement, Evidence-based decision making and Relationship management.
The main changes to the 2015 ISO standard include an increased focus on risk and opportunities. As a requirement, organisations must evidence they have determined, considered and, where necessary, taken action to address any risks or opportunities that may impact (either positively or negatively) their quality management system’s ability to deliver its intended outcomes or that could impact customer satisfaction. Another fundamental change to the standard is to bring quality management and continual improvement to the heart of an organisation. By meeting the criteria, Astech have displayed strong leadership and management commitment and are proud to be amongst one of the few robotics and automation companies certified to the ISO 9001:2015 standard.
Managing Director, Chris Hansford, commented, “By implementing this new standard we demonstrate Astech’s strong, long term commitment to quality. This globally recognised certification allows Astech to continue providing the highest levels of quality management to not only our existing customers but also new and future customers. Astech’s successful recertification is a testament to our quality management team, demonstrating their dedication to efficiency and customer satisfaction”.
Carla Whyte, Senior Client Propositions Manager at BSI said: “We’re really pleased to have been able to present Astech with certification to the revised quality management standard. By achieving this, they have demonstrated to stakeholders and customers that they have embedded a best practice approach to quality throughout their organization.”
