Associa Encourages Green Living with the Launch of the Associa Green Award

(1888PressRelease) April 27, 2013 - Dallas, TX - The Associa Green Award recognizes Associa-managed associations that promote green living in their communities. Divided into seven categories, the award requirements encompass several areas, including green building, energy efficiency, efficient water use, trees and green space, recycling and waste reduction, education and innovation.

"We worked to develop a robust green program that recognizes the extraordinary efforts of our communities," said John Carona, president and CEO of Associa. "The Associa Green Award has something for everyone, for each of our unique communities. Whether in a high rise, townhome, condominium or single family residence community, we encourage our associations to participate."

The Associa Green Award is designed to recognize all Associa-managed associations that strive to promote green living among homeowners and within the community. Each category is weighted with a specific number of points.

Based on this point system, those community associations that earn 100-149 points will receive the Associa Green Award. Communities earning 150-200 points will be named a 2013 Associa Green Community. The community with the most points, in addition to being named a 2013 Associa Green Community, will receive a free Associa Green event, valued at $2,500.

Nominations are due October 15, 2013. Winners will be announced November 15, 2013.
