Assistance League(R) of Raleigh to Throw Valentine's Day Party for Residents of Litchford Falls Nursing Home
Raleigh Nonprofit Chapter Will Cater to Nursing Home Residents, Present Them with Flowers.
- Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) February 10, 2011 - For many, Valentine's Day is a chance to celebrate a relationship with a close loved one in a special way. Often, however, it is easy to forget that for those who have lost loved ones or are unable to live independently, the day can be especially difficult.
Assistance LeagueŽ of Raleigh, a local chapter of the national nonprofit Assistance League, has worked with the Litchford Falls Nursing Home for years now through their signature philanthropic program, Silver Slippers, to provide companionship and aid to its residents. This Valentine's Day, Assistance League of Raleigh will throw a party for the Litchford Falls residents.
The party will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 14th. Members of Assistance League of Raleigh will be on hand to set up and coordinate the festivities, and will provide the residents with party favors and food. Assistance League of Raleigh members will also present each resident with a flower.
"It's so wonderful that we can offer the Litchford Falls residents a way to celebrate this special day with laughter and friendship," said Assistance League of Raleigh President, Brenda Griffin. "For many of the residents, Valentine's Day can be difficult. We want to show them that they are most definitely not alone, and that they are appreciated and deserve to have a good time."
