Wagner Park will come to life with the bold, vibrant and whimsical art of the country's leading artists when the 9th Annual Downtown Aspen Art Festival returns July 23 - 24, 2011. The artistic media represented include paintings, sculptures, photography, glass, wood, jewelry, collage, and ceramics with prices ranging from $25 hand designed earrings to $50,000 metal life size sculptures. Admission is free and open to the public.
Two hundred of America's finest artists will line Wagner Park in the heart of Downtown Aspen, overlooking the lifts ascending to the picturesque mountains of one of Colorado's most popular destinations. The event is hosted by and benefits the Aspen Chamber of Commerce.
"Festival goers return each year to see their favorite artists and to explore the work of new and emerging talent" says festival promoter Howard Alan. It's a great opportunity to meet and connect with the artist before making a purchase, which makes the investment much more meaningful and personal."
The Downtown Aspen Art Festival attracts thousands of tourists and visitors from around the area and beyond, making the arts accessible to a broad audience. Wagner Park, nearly 2 city blocks in the heart of downtown Aspen, provides an outdoor arena for a variety of activities and is the perfect setting for this art show. The artists are juried by an independent panel of expert judges, and hand-selected from hundreds of applicants based on quality and diversity. All artwork is original and handmade in America.
All artists will be on site for the duration of the show available to discuss their art and inspiration. The event appeals to people of all ages including families, art enthusiasts and serious art buyers looking to add to their collections.
