  • (1888PressRelease) February 12, 2020 - Canadian diners are invited this month to take part in Asialicious, an Asian-themed food festival taking place February 14–28 at participating restaurants located across the Greater Toronto Area.

Over 100+ Asian restaurants are joining together to offer special promotions and events during the two-week-long festival. Some 50 restaurants will be hosting the festival at brick-and-mortar locations while another 50+ restaurants will take part in the festival through online promotions.

The inaugural festival will unite Asian restaurants across the GTA in a demonstration of unity and harmony. Participating restaurants can be found in Toronto, Markham, Richmond Hill, Mississauga and more.

In addition to its wide coverage of southern Ontario, Asialicious will also offer a diverse range of Asian cuisine that originate from many different countries and regions.

Diners are invited to discover foods such as sushi burrito, tom yum soup, and barbecue meat skewers; experience comfort foods like bubble tea, dim sum, and hot pot; and enjoy famous dishes such as pad thai, Peking duck, and General Tsao’s chicken.

These foods and their restaurants will be showcased during daily Asialicious tasting events. The tastings will serve as a public introduction to Asian cuisines and cultures as well as a demonstration of their quality and cleanliness.

A new restaurant will be featured on each day of the festival. The tastings will involve a round- up of social media influencers, local politicians, and industry representatives.

This celebration of excellence in the Asian restaurant industry looks to attract diners with a wide array of promotions, contests, and awards.

Asialicious diners will be able to enjoy exclusive promotions at participating restaurants during the festival. Every restaurant will be represented by a signature dish that will be offered to customers at a discount or as part of a promotion during the entirety of the festival. The signature dish will be available for purchase both in-store and online in conjunction with other promotions offered on a restaurant-by-restaurant basis.
Not only that, Asialicious also offers a loyalty program that rewards diners that make multiple restaurant visits. Each visit during the two-week-long festival is marked with a stamp on a validation card that makes the user eligible for exclusive rewards offered in three tiers:

Asialicious Master: Customers that collect 5 stamps will receive a gift card worth $25 from participating restaurants
Asialicious Hero: Customers that collect 10 stamps will receive a gift card worth $100 from participating restaurants
Asialicious Super Gourmand: Customers that collect 14 stamps will receive a mystery prize worth $500+ and an invitation to the festival after party

Complementing the loyalty program is the festival’s food photo contest. To enter, entrants post photos of their food online to social media with the hashtag #asialiciousfest. The top 10 photos will win a $100 gift card from participating restaurants.

Customers will be able to select from their favourite Asian restaurants and dishes by browsing Asialiciousfest.com, the official online portal for the food festival.

Customers ordering takeout from Asialicious-participating restaurants during the festival will be serviced by online third-party food delivery services DoorDash, FOODHWY and F.O.D.

The Asialicious Asian Restaurant Food Festival puts the focus on local Asian restaurants and allows the public to experience them at their very best. Diners are encouraged to go out and support local Asian restaurants that are a part of the cultural mosaic that makes up Canadian multiculturalism.

The multi-city festival was first publicly announced in Markham with the help of Markham City Mayor Frank Scarpitti on February 5. The food festival is represented by its official slogan: “An Asian tour for your sense of taste.”

The Asialicious food festival is hosted and organized by the Chinese Cuisine & Hospitality Association of Canada (CCHAC).
