  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) April 25, 2013 - For the 11th year, ArtWorks is hosting a powerful display of artwork created by hospitalized children from the New York City metropolitan area. Additionally, the event is jam-packed with talented kids singing, dancing, and performing their hearts out on stage.

    "We are so thrilled to continue providing children with the opportunity to showcase their inspiring works of art," said Executive Director, Daniela Mendelsohn. "The children work for months preparing for Express Yourself. It is a day for us all to come together to celebrate these kids for their talents and accomplishments."

    And this year's show promises not to disappoint! The show will feature year's artwork includes 127 amazing paintings, drawings, and sculptures. The show will also highlight over 26 performers featuring singing, dancing, readings, and instrumental compositions. In addition to artwork and performances by our inspiring participants, Express Yourself-NY 2013 will also include art activities and refreshments for all attendees.

    Participating agencies in Express Yourself-NY 2013 include: Bellevue Hospital Center, Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, The Brooklyn Hospital Center, The Children's Hospital at Montefiore, Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center, The Stephen D. Hassenfeld Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, Incarnation Children's Center, Initiative for Women with Disabilities: Young Women's Program at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases, NewYork-Presbyterian Phyllis and David Komansky Center for Children's Health at Weill Cornell Medical Center, Maimonides Infants and Children's Hospital of Brooklyn, The Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital, New Alternatives for Children, New York Hospital Queens, NYU Langone Medical Center, and Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center of New York.
