Artbattles U Kicks Off Second Live College Art Battle At NYC'S Webster Hall; Opens Call Out For Talented College Students
Second Live Art Battle To be Held At Iconic Webster Hall's Marlin Room, Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 8 p.m.
- New York, NY (1888PressRelease) October 24, 2013 - ArtBattles U today announces its Second Live Art Battle will be held at iconic Webster Hall's Marlin Room, Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 8 p.m. The college-focused arts and entertainment company is calling out to the best college student painters, street artists, illustrators, DJs and designers in the tri-state area to compete in this popular, live painting tournament in tandem with the best student DJs, MCs, body painters, musicians, photographers, videographers, editors, promoters, dancers and models.
Hosting the New York City ArtBattle is MC iLLspokinn, accompanied by Montclair State student DJ Frank Wild. More partners and performers will be announced in the weeks leading up to the event.
"Our ArtBattles offer an incredible opportunity for talented college students to showcase their skills in front of a live audience of peers and professionals, all of whom will vote to determine the winner," says ArtBattles U's Scott Hazleton. Four student artists will be selected to compete in the November 14th New York City ArtBattle. The winner goes on to compete in the ArtBattles U Spring Finals against winners of ArtBattles held in Philadelphia, and two cities to be announced. The victor of this final Battle receives national exposure to hundreds of thousands of viewers, fans, trendsetters, tastemakers and art world professionals. All original artwork created at the Battle will be available for sale, and incorporated into the ArtBattles U retail line of apparel and art skins for iPhones, iPads, laptops and gaming consoles, with a portion of profits going directly to the artists.
More than 900 fans attended the ArtBattles U New York Launch Battle on April 4th, 2013 at Webster Hall. Four students from Pratt, Parsons and FIT competed live on stage. The winner, Sam from FIT, won an all expenses paid trip to Miami, including a stay at the famous W Hotel South Beach and open-door visits to local galleries.
