Arizona Therapist Recognizes Meaning in Coincidence
Lynn Cochrane Leonard is a psychotherapist who recently retired after 23 years in private practice. Throughout her career, she specialized in helping people surmount the painful transitions in their lives. Lynn has now written a book to lead more people to peace and well-being.

She has battled severe illnesses including rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis while doing everything she could to get through each day. "When we feel overwhelmed it is difficult to recognize that we already possess the power to surmount our challenges." Leonard says. Prayer, perseverance and a powerful sense of purpose helped Leonard surmount the many serious challenges she faced when multiple sclerosis eliminated her job and she lost her new home. It was during this time she began to recognize that God has a plan for everyone. She discovered that the things people often shrug off as mere coincidences actually are of far greater importance.
"These highly improbable coincidences are there to instruct and guide us," Leonard says. "Some authors call them 'God winks' while others call them 'God-incidences'."
The awareness of how such highly improbable coincidences played a guiding role throughout her life inspired Leonard to write Not By Chance: God's "Coincidental" Guidance of My Life. In her book, Leonard shares the true stories of how the coincidental guidance she received helped chart her physical, financial, emotional, and spiritual journey.
"There were only so many people I could reach in a day, a month, a year. This is one reason I felt compelled to write Not By Chance. I knew if I could get my book into the right hands, I could share my message of hope and God's faithfulness with people around the world," Leonard says. "I know I was put on planet Earth for a reason. Everyone receives special talents and everyone has a purpose to fulfill. My purpose is to encourage and empower others. In every life there is sadness or despair. It's important that we not surrender to these feelings. There's always light at the end of even the longest tunnel.
