(1888PressRelease) February 04, 2010 - Fairfield, NJ - Archive Systems, a leading provider of document management services, today announced the company's Go Green recycling efforts have saved over 3.5 million pounds of fiber in 2009. This marks an increase of over 1.3 million pounds of fiber saved from 2008.
"We are proud of our environmentally conscientious efforts, and the results that we've achieved through this initiative are significant. Our products and services assist other organizations with their Go Green efforts by enabling them to remove paper from their processes and view business-critical information over the Web through our Virtual File Delivery and ASPEN 360 solutions. This reduces the number of deliveries needed to access records, thus reducing vehicle emissions," explained Gordon Rapkin, CEO of Archive Systems.
As part of the Go Green initiative, Archive Systems also selected a facility that was awarded the LEEDŽ Gold Certification when expanding its document and records management business into the Pacific Northwest. The building, located in Portland, Oregon, integrates daylight photo-sensor controlled lighting, high efficiency fixtures, cool roof technology, heat and air circulation units that are 95% efficient, and other environmentally-friendly features.
Since the Go Green initiative started, Archive Systems has recycled over 3,700 tons of packaging and raw materials. This conserved 64,100 mature trees, 1,749,000 gallons of oil, 90,600 gallons of gasoline, 15,501,000 kilowatt hours of electricity,26,465,000 gallons of water, and 13,100 cubic yards of landfill according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries.
