PAN studios is launching a text-messaging-based choose-your-own-adventure story through Indianapolis. Create your own story in this family-friendly event.
Indianapolis, IN (1888PressRelease) July 15, 2014 - Pan Studios, winner of the 2013 Playable City Award[1], is releasing its latest app at Gen Con, the largest tabletop-game convention in North America [2]. The City of Forking Paths is a narrative adventure where the story advances depending on the route you take in the real world. Every road junction is a choice. The route you take, defines how the story unfolds.
Indianapolis Writers create stories specifically for the game and the city of Indianapolis. Every story has multiple branches and every choice you make will open up new ones, whilst removing old ones. The starting point for stories will be plaques on landmarks around GenCon, they might be on trolls in the main hall or on public art in the city. These plaques will have an introduction to the story, a number to text and the key words that begins the adventure.
City of Forking Paths will launch for Gen Con Gaming Convention. Last year Gen Con had over 49,000 unique attendees. [3]
'Will you go east on the advice of a mysterious correspondent from Indianapolis or head North and investigate the newspaper reports of a scientists disappearance?'
"By turning Indy into a playable city, we are giving families another way to enjoy downtown" -Ben Barker, PAN Studios
