Apex Lifts hosts Training Centre Direct career session
Apex Lifts was delighted to welcome ten lift apprentices from lift training and certification specialists, Training Centre Direct (TCD), to an open morning at its new offices in Bexleyheath.
- (1888PressRelease) May 16, 2015 - The aim was to introduce the apprentices to the different career paths at Apex Lifts and its approach to working within the lift industry.
The morning began with a tour of the Apex offices and three presentations from the Apex team: John Roberts, Service Manager, Apex Project Manager Peter Gruzinski and Steve Minns, Service Supervisor. Each explored the different routes available for apprentices, and the employment opportunities, roles and responsibilities open to them at the end of their training.
"The apprentices were really engaged with the presentations and were asking lots of questions about how we do things at Apex and the different training and development options available to further a career in the lift industry," explains Peter.
Apprentices also watched in-depth videos on the intricacies of lift engineering and were given an overview of vital health and safety issues in the industry. The morning concluded with a tour of the Apex Sidcup manufacturing site, demonstrating key H&S issues, equipment and approaches to carrying out service and maintenance.
"Overall it was a tremendously successful morning and we were delighted to provide our support to TCD. Our objective was to promote best practice in the lift industry," says John Roberts. "I hope that all of the TCD students left feeling really motivated and encouraged to be part of the industry."
"The presentations and tour were incredibly informative and all of our lift trainees have been buzzing since leaving the Apex Lifts sites," says Rob Hughes, Lift Training Director at Training Centre Direct.
