Apeejay Stya University organizes orientation programme for academic year 2011-2012
Apeejay Stya University, Gurgaon, which offers a wide range of graduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes across a plethora of disciplines organised orientation programme for the academic year 2011-2012 at its campus premises on 23rd of August, 2011.
- (1888PressRelease) August 25, 2011 - On the occasion of the orientation programme 2011, the chancellor and co-founder, Sushma Berlia said, "My father, late Dr. Stya Paul, believed in a dream, which is now the vision of the Apeejay Stya University. He believed that the foundation of industry and a nation depended not on its machinery, nor capital or sales, but on the calibre of its men and women. Therefore, his vision for the Apeejay Stya University was to establish a seat of global learning with a supportive and nurturing environment that would produce young renaissance men and women who would be the leaders of today and tomorrow."
Over a year has passed since the inception of the Apeejay Stya University, Sohna, Haryana, through an Act passed by the State legislative assembly. The University has a strong focus on liberal arts and technology, and follows an internationally prevalent credit system.
"At ASU, we recognize the need to encourage students to become life-long learners and to work in a multi-cultural, ever-changing society," Mrs. Sushma Berlia added. "The world is waiting for people, who are able to think, analyse and apply, and at ASU, our prime objective is to develop individuals who can infuse the world with the energy of their ideas and innovations that produce tangible benefits for the community and the country."
Young Aditya Vijay Berlia, pro-chancellor and co-founder, Apeejay Stya University, who returned from the US after completing his Graduation from Stanford University and Masters from the Harvard University School of Business, has followed a hands-on approach in articulating and realising the vision of ASU. He said, "The very word University fills me with joy, excitement and purpose. It is a living changing ideal that helps a select few find their calling and destiny in life, and also acts as an agent of change for society and the rest of mankind."
The head of the departments of Engineering, Management, Design and Bio-Science put forward their presentation which helped the new batch of students familiarize themselves with the University, its policies, curricula and study plans.
The vice-chancellor, Dr K.K. Dwivedi, a top scientist and former vice-chancellor of Arunachal Pradesh University wished the new entrants every success in their future endeavours.
The spirit of the students of the second batch, while entering the portals of the Apeejay Stya University was infectious during this event. Finally the event concluded with the chanting of hymns which created positive vibe in the atmosphere.
