Apeejay School of Management (ASM) organizes 2nd International Conference on Management Practices & Research (ICMPR)
Platform for Charting out Business Strategies for the Next Decade.
- (1888PressRelease) January 06, 2012 - New Delhi - Apeejay School of Management (ASM), the thought leader in management education, organized 2nd International Conference on Management Practices & Research on 28th December 2011 with the theme - Business Strategies for the Next Decades, at its campus premises in New Delhi. Academics from India, Canada and Poland participated in the conference.
The conference, being interdisciplinary in nature, explored some of the underlying opportunities and challenges in Management Practice & Research such as Infrastructure Management, Technology, Knowledge Management, Small Business & Entrepreneurship, Relationship Management, Rural markets, Fair-play in Business and Case Studies etc.
The key speakers of the conference were Shri Bhartendra Singh Baswan, Senior Consultant, Planning Commission, Prof Inderjit Singh Mann, Eric Sprott School of Business, Carleton University, Canada, Shri Rajkumar Jha, Ogilvy Outreach India, Prof Dinesh Kumar, University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa.
Addressing the participants, Shri Bhartendra Singh Baswan, said "Management practices in twenty first century will be much more challenging. We need to focus more on adopting transparent public policies for overall growth of the economy."
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Inderjit Singh Mann, Eric Sprott School of Business, Carleton University, Canada highlighted the growth of India Economy in the last two decades. He discussed the drivers of sustainable supply chain network for effective management practices. He said "The investment in improving the supply chain capabilities should not be delayed even in bad times, since organizations across the globe increasingly find that they must rely on effective supply chain or network, to compete in the current global market."
Rajkumar Jha from Ogilvy Outreach India presented an overall picture of marketing with reference to rural markets in India. He also highlighted the current rural market scenario & expected future trends. With the help of power point presentation he carried the audience to rural India. He also said "there are three things that rules India - Religion, Cinema and cricket"
Thirty-five delegates across India and different parts of the world presented the papers in the poster session, an e-book of the conference proceedings was also released on the occasion.
The conference provided a forum for dissemination of research findings, practices and techniques in Management among academicians and practitioners through publication of quality papers. The conference aimed at providing a platform to bring together academicians and practitioners with research interests in the field of finance and enable them to exchange ideas on the new developments in management practices and research.
The conference also aimed at reflecting on the strategic issues of the next decade in view of fast changing scenario in businesses, public policy, environment, climate change, energy needs, demographic changes, public health, lifestyles and consumerism, socio-cultural milieu, world politics, international trade, regional trade blocks, etc. It would be interesting to see on how the practicing managers and academics visualize the scenario in the next decade and how they wish to prepare for the future.
