APAC Companies Struggle To Find 'The Right Talent'
Organisations in the Asia-Pacific region aren't finding and retaining their desired talent because they don't know what they want.
- (1888PressRelease) January 04, 2012 - This is according to Ochre House's recent research, carried out for its white paper Talent acquisition in Asia-Pac - What does 'good' look like. The findings suggest that APAC companies do not have a clear definition of what qualities they are looking for when searching for 'the right talent' - making it difficult to recruit.
Kieran Scally, Vice President, APAC, Ochre House, says: "Almost every employer we spoke to could explain exactly what qualities and attributes they didn't want, but very few could articulate those they were actively seeking, making recruitment both difficult and flawed.
"Although a perfect solution is a long way off, the most straightforward remedy would be to undertake systematic profiling of high performers to gain a clearer picture of what is likely to work and what is not.
"This would involve identifying actual performance against agreed criteria as well as assessing desired skills and attributes needed for the future. Supplement this with psychometric testing of the top segment to provide a template for talent pipelining and acquisition, and organisations will be in a much better position to define their Employee Value Proposition."
