Radiologists, Physicians and Managers Can Work from Anywhere.
Radiologists, physicians and managers can work from ANYWHERE, said Russell Dick, IT Director at Quinte Health Care.
(1888PressRelease) March 27, 2009 - AnyWare Group Inc. announced today that Quinte Health Care has implemented the ROAM portal platform to more efficiently access a wide variety of applications and resources from multiple facilities spread over 3 diverse counties in Southeastern Ontario. The ROAM initiative supports Quinte’s strategic priorities, including the identification, integration and rationalization of services between sites and the improvement of communications across the region.
“Radiologists, physicians and managers can work from ANYWHERE,” said Russell Dick, IT Director at Quinte Health Care. “When the weather is questionable, telecommuting helps 'get the job done' without risking bad roads or wasting valuable patient care-time traveling. ROAM is enabling physicians to have access to as much information as possible, which obviously improves the quality of care.”
The ROAM Platform's VPN provides QHC with a thin client solution that allows authorized doctors and staff to access:
* new and legacy MEDITECH systems housed at different locations
* 2 PACS radiology systems
* EMHware
* the corporate Intranet
* Citrix published applications
* Terminal Services applications
* custom Web applications
* the client care information system (WinCis)
* financial system information
* Outlook Web Access.
All applications are presented through a personalized ROAM portal: a single point of role-based access from any PC or Mac computer.
The rural multi-site hospital has implemented ROAM to improve collaboration and quality of work life for authorized users – all of whom have been tasked to provide services to QHC as a whole, as well as to each other. ROAM helps fulfill QHC’s e-health strategy, facilitating the creation of a readily accessible IT system. Through ROAM Reports, IT administration can measure the use and effectiveness of IT resources accessed through ROAM. ROAM also supports QHC’s integrated communications strategy by providing a “news channel” through which management can keep users informed of important QHC and regional communiques.
“We at AnyWare Group are very excited to be working with Quinte Health Care on this important initiative that truly highlights the unique capabilities of the ROAM Platform,” said Robert Lalonde, CEO of AnyWare Group Inc. “By providing authorized physicians, clinicians and managers with a single point of access to hospital systems and applications, ROAM is helping QHC deliver equitable, flexible health care across QHC’s diverse communities while improving the work life and efficiency of QHC employees.”
