Industry analysts widely expect the market for cloud computing services to grow exponentially, with some analysts forecasting annual revenues of approximately $150 billion within a few years. A Harris Interactive survey of IT managers, however, found that security concerns are a barrier to cloud computing adoption, with 76% believing that information is more secure when stored on-premises rather than with a vendor, and 81% concerned about maintaining regulatory compliance if they were to store sensitive data in the cloud. Endpoint security is a major element of those concerns, as any insufficiently secured endpoint leaves the cloud provider, application and customer at risk.
