Anveshan 2015 had invited students to become songbirds, and deliver odes to their collective heritage. ITIHAAS asked them to venture out, collect stories, lore and legends that make up their shared past and tie them together through strings of melody.

Anveshan2015 witnessed an unprecedented response and received over 300 song entries from schools across the country. The songs that were received were judged on the basis of research and innovation, Lyrics and Tune and the Versatility of instruments used.

After shortlisting, over 4000 students participated in the Zonals that took place between 30th of July and 6th of August. An eminent jury panel then saw the performances of those shortlisted and arrived at the final 45 songs, that were performed at Siri Fort.

ITIHAAS (Indian Traditions and Heritage Society) attempts to connect the Indian children to their heritage by embedding heritage into mainstream curriculum so that it becomes an essential part of their learning and assessment and thereby their knowledge base and understanding. Towards this ideal, ITIHAAS has created a Young Writers' Forum: ANVESHAN. Anveshan is an annual competitive event where school going children are asked to document and preserve oral traditions from their own localities and communities. Anveshan is an endeavour to bring together the many hues of children's talent, and celebrate the efforts that go into research, writing, music composition and performance.

In 2015, ITIHAAS Anveshan attempted to prolong the musical journey that began in 2014 and revive the narratives. The idea was to sing of our heritage again 'In Verse, phir se..!'

Anveshan 2015 invited students to compose a song that celebrates a specific aspect
of their past. The song should be the outcome of substantial research carried out by the students, where the students explore their surroundings, speak to the elders in their community and beyond and document what they find through the lyrics of a song. The song is set to a tune and was performed in front of a jury at the Zonal Level. The Zonal Finalists were then invited to perform at the National Finale.
