Anton himself was born in Michigan, although he has family lineage in America started nearly 300 years ago in the Baton Rouge LA and Natchez MS area. His initial forebear was a Welsh business owner named David Williams who incorporated the first business in the 1700's. Legal documents and history books show David acquired over 11,000 acres of real estate, tobacco, timber, corn and cotton fields. His will passed properties down the next generation. Government records show David's grandson, named David Percy Williams had a mixed race son, Archie P. Williams of Natchez MS, who was born a free person of color in the era of slave due to his mother being emancipated before his birth. A.P. Williams was educated and given an inheritance with a value of over $1 million in 1800s currency (about $200 million in today's currency). He was one of the few mix race or black millionaires in the 1800s. A.P's inherited holdings were passed through the generations for his heirs to inherit.

Anton R. Williams of Kalamazoo MI and Grand Rapids MI, is the great great great grandson of Archie P. Williams of Natchez MS and the majority owner for the bulk of the Williams holdings. The Anton Robert Williams Trust has many of the same real estate, oil and gas, timber and agricultural acreage that has been in the family since the 1700's and expanded through each generation.

The irony is that Anton, an African American, is using inherited properties from slave owning forebears to be a conduit to bring benefit to many people around the world; including the descendants of slaves themselves. A portion of his inheritance was used to fund his global missions organization and its to that non profit that many are thankful.
