Anticipation Grows For Lord Young Address
Government Advisor To Give First Full Speech Since His Report's Publication. Safety, Legal and Insurance Industry Stakeholders' Excitement Over Seminar Grows.
- (1888PressRelease) October 22, 2010 - INSURANCE and health and safety professionals will get their first opportunity to engage with Lord Young on Monday, following the publication last week of his report Common Sense, Common Safety.
Lord Young will speak to an invited audience in the Great Hall at the Chartered Institute of Insurers on October 25. This will be his first appearance in a seminar environment and industry experts are keen to debate the radical reforms he has proposed.
Gerard Forlin QC, who will also speak at the event, said, "The UK has the best health and safety record in the world. We must be very careful that this pole position is maintained. Nothing must jeopardise it.
"That said, it is true that certain aspects of health and safety legislation and, in particular, how certain cases are investigated, funded and brought may need to be reviewed. Getting the correct balance will be an extremely difficult task to achieve. We all need to work together on this important task."
