ANS Group Europe Adds Living Walls to Crystal Serenity Makeover
ANS Group Europe, leading designers of indoor and outdoor living walls, has created green walls for Crystal Cruises' Crystal Serenity ship as part of its major refurbishment.
- (1888PressRelease) December 13, 2013 - Chesterfield, United Kingdom - The award-winning Crystal Serenity spent nine days in drydock at the Navantia Shipyard in Cadiz, Spain, during which time it underwent a $17 million redesign. Crystal Cruises redecorated the ship's Crystal Penthouses (the top-level accommodations) and the Lido Deck, which includes: the Trident Grill; Tastes Restaurant; and the Lido Café. In total, Crystal have spent $52 million on the Serenity's Extreme Makeover during the past two years, and nearly $120 million on the fleet's overall Extreme Makeover.
ANS Group Europe was brought aboard to install living walls as part of the makeover, following their successful additions to the Serenity's sister ship-the Crystal Symphony-last year. They installed seven living walls in total, in the 'Lido and Tastes' area on Deck Twelve, as well as four large-specimen olive trees and a herb planter. All of these were designed and created in close consultation with Crystal Cruises.
