Anonymous Comix (anoncomix.ning.com) is a new website for an Anonymous comic project also known as "You Found the Comic". Comics and illustrations made so far may be downloaded, and new contributions uploaded. A test issue was released at a Japanese comic and media convention. Contributors to the project are encouraged - but not forced - to use pseudonyms.
Its goal is a series of comic book anthologies about the Internet, freedom of speech, memes, and the life and work of Anonymous.
(1888PressRelease) December 18, 2009 - Tokyo, Japan - The Anonymous comics project, also known as "You Found the Comic", has launched a new collaborative website called "Anonymous Comix". Its goal is a series of comic book anthologies about the Internet, freedom of speech, memes, and the life and work of Anonymous. The site contains the artwork received so far; it also serves as a meeting point for artists and writers to share ideas.
The Anonymous comics project participated as a doujin manga circle at Comic Market 76 in Tokyo on August 16th 2009. There, a test issue in Japanese was presented for the first time. This doujinshi lampooned the alien origin story of L. Ron Hubbard's Scientology, with a distinctly Japanese twist. As Anonymous Comix is not operated for profit, this issue and others can be freely downloaded from the website.
The rules of the project stipulate that contributors should be credited under a pseudonym for their own protection and to keep in the spirit of Anonymous; it also says, however, that established artists may contribute under their real names as long as certain conditions are met.
