Announcing RecMan for Gmail(TM)--E-mail Records Management & Compliance for the Cloud
Newest Member of the RecMan Suite of Applications, RecMan for Gmail, Meets Regulatory and Compliance Requirements for Companies of All Sizes.
- San Francisco, CA (1888PressRelease) August 18, 2011 - RecMan Inc., developer of RecMan for Google Apps™, an enterprise-level platform for the management of document compliance processes for Google and the cloud, today announced the release of RecMan for Gmail. The second in a suite of applications for users of Google Docs™ and Gmail™, RecMan for Gmail provides administrators in organizations of any size with full control over development and deployment of records management processes for e-mail messages within the Gmail domain.
RecMan for Gmail, like RecMan for Google Apps, is designed to meet the needs records managers and compliance officers have for developing and deploying records management policies, including tiered file plans, retention schedules, disposition policies and legal holds; all using a simple browser interface with centralized controls and access management.
"RecMan for Gmail was developed to provide powerful document compliance and records management, without which millions may not be able to take full advantage of Gmail," says Richard Roberts, President and CEO of RecMan Inc. "Featuring a revolutionary interface designed to work seamlessly with Gmail's architecture, RecMan offers complete e-mail and document compliance for the cloud that is intuitive and easy to use."
Designed to meet six critical compliance needs espoused by ARMA International, the Association of Records Managers and Administrators, RecMan applications now include metadata generation and management. The metadata feature allows the addition, editing and indexing of detailed metadata for all documents and e-mails, enabling the search of legacy documents.
In addition to search and indexing, metadata management helps users managing records in Gmail and Google Docs repositories to define and set data cues that support and automate the electronic records management process. In the event of litigation and e-discovery, using built-in metadata rules can also help determine where legal holds are necessary.
There is minimal training required to implement RecMan for Gmail, which can be configured easily by the end user. Once the account administrator applies organizational policies and access codes to a centralized classification scheme, users drag and drop document into shared folders. The document then falls under the control of RecMan, enabling all organizational compliance policies to be applied automatically.
RecMan's patent-pending technology is designed to support three main standards for records management, including ISO 15489, DoD 5015.2, MoReq2. Organizations subject to FISMA, HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley and other regulatory guidelines can also look to RecMan to meet organizational needs.
