Announcement: IndiBlogger.In invites Kolkata Bloggers to unite for a cause in aid of School Meal Program in Kolkata
IndiBlogger.In is conducting its second Kolkata blogger meet at the CII , DC Block-36, Sector-1,Salt Lake City Kolkata - 700 064 on the 20th of Feb 2011.
- (1888PressRelease) February 19, 2011 - This meet is held to spread the awareness about issues such as hunger and its ill effects on a child's education. An online engagement was conducted to support the cause and Indian bloggers across the world participated in the 'Hunger Warriors Campaign'. The motto of the campaign was 'No child in India shall be deprived of education because of hunger'.
IndiBlogger.In with Akshaya Patra held its first blogger meet at the ISKCON Temple, Bangalore, on the 9th of January 2011. 300 members from across the country came to attend the blogger meet. The meet gathered more attention from all over the world and the responses were presented by Akshaya Patra at the meet. The bloggers also took a tour around Akshaya Patra's centralized kitchens and rural schools in Bangalore to see and understand the overall process of how a child is fed during the school meal time.
IndiBlogger.In is hosting this blogger meet at Kolkata to help Akshaya Patra achieve their vision of feeding 5 million Indian children by the year 2020. In the efforts to achieve this, 25,000 bloggers of the IndiBlogger community have been engaged so far. There are about 700 bloggers from Kolkata registered with IndiBlogger.In. IndiBlogger.In is inviting all the Kolkata bloggers to come forward in changing the future of unprivileged Indian children.

About Akshaya Patra
The Akshaya Patra Foundation, a non-profit, secular Trust, evolved the school meal program in the year 2000. It started as a pilot project in five schools in Bangalore, feeding 1,500 children and has now grown covering over 1.3 million children daily in over 8000 government and government-aided schools in 18 locations spread across eight states in India. The Foundation expects to reach five million children by 2020.
