Angry White Man Sparks a Boiled Peanut Outbreak Across America
Indican Pictures is set to release the outrageous, raunchy, raucous and most southern style comedy this year - that is sure to butter yo biscuit.
- (1888PressRelease) May 19, 2014 - Angry White Man is a tale of epic proportions. Actors Scoot McNairy (Argo, 12 Years a Slave), Steve Agee (New Girl, Sarah Silverman Series), Matt Berry (IFC's Portlandia) and Mary Birdsong (The Descendants, Reno 911) lead a cast of oddball southern misfits stuck in a small town while searching for their greater aspirations. Angry White Man delivers razor sharp wit, sidesplitting vulgarity, and charming accessibility for anyone who has dared to uproot and hit the road.
It is a comedy of errors for the film's main character, Skeeter Freeman. He is struggling in a sea of debt, loneliness, idiot friends and boiled peanuts. Only one thing keeps him from losing it - his upcoming wedding to the love of his life. When a horrifically funny event happens on his wedding day, Skeeter spirals completely out of control with only his two redneck (idiot) buddies to keep him from going crazy.
With a limited supply of moonshine, broken shotguns, loose women and recreational habits, these 3 fools embark on the American Dream - leaving their redneck roots behind in search of Nashville fame. The three decide to seek out their idol, Bulldog Hayes, in search of some much needed inspiration and some great tunes, but when Bulldog turns out to be nothing like they imagined (a faux Southern crooner who is so drunk he can't remember his own lyrics), Skeeter realizes he must rely on himself - to fulfill his Nashville dreams, help his friends find their path in life, get the girl and enjoy some boiled peanuts.
Scoot McNairy steals the show as Walt - the ultimate Southern Womanizer, while Steve Agee provides the pitch perfect commentary on Southern life hitting the down-home country flavor and serenading the audience with original music that will become cult classics. Some titles sure to stick in your mind -Santa Claus was a Fraud. Bob Hardison delivers a spot on portrayal of an everyman with a deep desire to be something more and his scene with a Jehovah's Witness - will be an inspiration (or lack thereof) to all. Last but certainly not least is lovable Mary Birdsong's character, The Barstool Babysitter, who sings an original song that Birdsong herself wrote, called, Last Call Lullaby with her rockin' band. So catch the fun (and quite possibly something else) and check out Angry White Man.
Angry White Man hit with a twang at the Hollywood Film Festival and rolls out to your neck of the woods on June 17th.
