Angela “Missy” Billups Entertains 30,000+ During NYC Bike Tour
Gospel singer Angela “Missy” Billups and her group, the Voices of New York, performed during the TD Five Boro Bike Tour in New York City, uplifting and encouraging more than 30,000 cyclists from around the world with their inspiring songs.
- New York, NY (1888PressRelease) May 13, 2023 - Gospel singer Angela “Missy” Billups and her group, the Voices of New York, lifted the spirits of more than 30,000 cyclists during the TD Five Boro Bike Tour on Sunday, May 7. As participants careened along Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard between West 125th and West 126th Streets, Missy’s earth-shaking, soul-stirring sounds filled the air, providing encouragement and upliftment to riders from all over the world.
This is Missy’s eleventh year participating in the event, which is a perennial sold-out spring charitable event. The TD Five Boro Bike Tour strips the streets of cars for three hours in the morning so bicyclists can ride safely on the historic streets and avenues of New York. In addition to being cheered on by locals, participants enjoyed top entertainment at several key points along the course, including artists from the worlds of electronic dance music, rock, jazz, reggae, Latin, singer-songwriters, Afro-Puerto Rican diasporic music, and gospel.
Missy and the Voices of New York treated riders to inspiring songs like “The Best is Yet to Come,” “Oh Happy Day,” and “Let the Hallelujah Roll.” She also debuted her latest single, “For My Good.” Missy said, “Just to be able to spread the Good News through song and give hope and cheer to tens of thousands from all over the world means more to me than anything.”
Angela “Missy” Billups is a three-time award winner and finalist of the New York Tri-State McDonalds' Gospel Fest. She also has four Rhythm of Gospel Award nominations. Missy has sung on several television programs, including BET’s Bobby Jones Gospel, Atlanta Live, and The Songwriters Circle Television Show. In 2020, she debuted her own show, Walking in Victory with Angela “Missy” Billups, on the Gospel Television Network. Along with her son Ernest Billups and his Tribe of Levi, Missy backed superstar Mariah Carey on “All I Want for Christmas is You” during her 2019 Christmas special at Madison Square Garden.
