Andy Allo Releases First Single Off Upcoming EP

Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) October 15, 2014 - Today, singer, songwriter and guitarist Andy Allo releases her new single, "Tongue Tied," a fresh, upbeat nod to the early stages of falling in love. "Tongue Tied" is the first single off of Allo's third project, an upcoming EP, and her first foray into the pop/rock world, reflecting the artist's fresher, more youthful approach to her musical journey. Her new direction is about taking the time to discover and explore individuality, happiness, positivity and change.

"This single is a breath of fresh air for me, full of positivity and hope," said Andy Allo. "I don't feel I am bound by any one genre. My first two albums, UnFresh (2009) and Superconductor (2012), had completely different, more funky and soulful vibes. Allo's journey began in Cameroon, Africa, where at a young age, her mother taught her to play piano. Influenced by an eclectic array of artists including Dolly Parton, Fleetwood Mac, Nina Simone, Arctic Monkeys and Chuck Berry, Allo's music and songwriting takes form by crossing multiple genres. In 2009, Allo self-produced her first album UnFresh, and in 2011, she joined mentor Prince's band New Power Generation as a singer/songwriter. Prince collaborated with Allo on her sophomore album, Superconductor, released in 2012. Allo has recently been featured on three songs off of Prince's album Art Official Age, released Sept. 30, 2014, including "What It Feels Like," "Time," and "Breakdown."

"Tongue Tied" is the introduction to the next chapter in Allo's story as she prepares to launch a pop album with a rock edge in Spring 2015. Her refreshing voice, honest and sweet lyrics on the single combined with her soft yet striking looks make her a talent a watch as she rises to the top.
