The three-day Fine Estates & Collections auction is packed with nearly 1,300 lots, pulled from prominent local estates and collections. Internet bidding is on several platforms.
The De Laurentiis collection will feature Italian and European antiques, furnishings, fine art and decorative items. The Mitzi Gaynor collection will showcase fine art, antiques, books, silver, porcelain and glass, decorative arts and Louis Vuitton luggage.
Nearly 300 top-quality lots will be offered to the highest bidder. Significant and varied private collections and estates will provide a rich selection for discerning buyers.
The top lot was an elegant George I chinoiserie decorated cabinet on a later stand that fetched $27,500, almost seven times its presale estimate. Part 3 of the collection will be held Feb. 20.
It was the second ‘White Glove’ auction event of the month for the company; the other was held Oct. 10. Both sales grossed well over $1 million. Part 2 of John Nelson will be Dec. 12.
