Anders Invest closes Solex acquisition
Unified brand provides customers access to fully integrated producer of thermal and material-handling solutions
- (1888PressRelease) September 24, 2022 - CALGARY, Alberta – Netherlands-based private equity firm Anders Invest BV has recently closed a previously announced agreement to purchase all issued and outstanding shares of Canadian-headquartered heat transfer technology specialists Solex Thermal Science Inc. (“Solex”).
The acquisition follows a previous investment in The Netherlands-based Mosman Stainless Steel (“Mosman”) that will now operate under the Solex brand.
Combined, the newly formed entity provides customers with improved accessibility to made-to-order solutions from a fully integrated global producer of best-in-class thermal and material handling solutions.
“We’re excited to continue this journey as two organizations operating as one,” says Solex Chief Executive Officer Lowy Gunnewiek.
“By providing sales, design, fabrication and service support under one brand, our customers have access to a seamless experience that eliminates hand-offs, shortens timelines and ensures the engineered solutions promised are the ones provided.”
Growing technology suite
Under the Solex brand, the company will continue to expand its growing suite of technology solutions. Over the past 30 years, the company has installed more than 800 advanced heat exchangers in more than 50 countries worldwide with applications such as fertilizer, oilseeds, sugar and industrial materials such as minerals/sands, salts, chemicals and polymers/plastics.
More recently, Solex has further developed its technology suite to include applications involving liquid and gas heat exchange – for example, when cooling or heating liquids and gases, including dirty and condensing gases streams.
In a recently announced application, the company’s liquid-liquid heat exchangers are already being used with UV-C light to prevent fouling in sea water applications as part of partnership with Netherlands-based Corrosion.
The company has also expanded into the energy-transition sector with key collaborations globally on decarbonisation applications such as industrial waste heat recovery, concentrated solar power (CSP) and carbon capture.
