Camerota and Sena Dish About Their Shared Experiences at Fox and Camerota Reveals How She Found the Confidence to Trust Her Instinct.
- Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) August 20, 2020 - In a unique episode of “The Confidence Connection: Building Trust in a Virtual World,” Emmy-nominated TV host and former Fox News Channel (FNC) anchor, Suzanne Sena interviews fellow former Fox News Channel colleague, Alisyn Camerota. During the interview, Camerota discusses how she developed an unshakable confidence and the conversation gives an insider peek into the world of being a national on-camera news personality. The episode will be available on Wednesday, August 19, on Apple Podcasts and all major podcast platforms.
The two broadcasting pros, who worked together over a two-year period as anchors at the Fox News Channel, dish on how they dealt with the unique challenges at the network, overcame obstacles and early career struggles. Camerota went on from Fox to become a superstar anchor at CNN, co-hosting the network’s signature morning show, “New Day.” Sena moved on and received critical acclaim for her portrayal of pompous anchor, Brooke Alvarez, in the comedic news-parody television series, The Onion News Network.
Camerota also discusses how her experiences inspired the penning of a book called “Amanda Wakes Up,” a fictional tale based on her life in the news industry. She’s currently using time during Covid to work on her next book.
"It’s a real memoir; only real things that happened, real people,” says Camerota of her new book. “I did that because [I am] a journalist. I know how to tell stories, so I tell real stories. It’s fun to be able to invent fiction, but I like real stories, better." About changing jobs after 16 years with Fox, Camerota says: “at some point, you have to jump off the cliff, and say, 'I have no guarantee, I don't know what the future holds,' I bet on myself."
“Alisyn’s career success is truly inspiring – and the conversation was so validating for me. Before joining me on the podcast, she listened to one of my earlier episodes about what happened during my time at Fox, and discovered that my experiences there mirrored her own.”
