American Hospital Dubai laboratory earns 6th consecutive accreditation by College of American Pathologists (CAP)
The American Hospital Dubai Laboratory has earned its sixth consecutive accreditation by Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists (CAP), based on results of a recent onsite inspection.
- (1888PressRelease) October 13, 2011 - The Laboratory of the American Hospital Dubai has earned its sixth consecutive accreditation by the Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists (CAP), based on the results of a recent onsite inspection. American Hospital Dubai Laboratory is one of nearly 7,000 CAP-accredited laboratories worldwide and was the first private medical laboratory in the region to be accredited by CAP.
The CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program, begun in the early 1960s, is recognized by the US federal government as being equal to or more stringent than the government's own inspection program comprising over 3000 inspection checklist items.
During the CAP accreditation process, trained voluntary inspectors examine the laboratory's records and quality control of procedures for the preceding two years. CAP inspectors also examine the entire staff's qualifications, the laboratory's equipment, facilities, safety program and record, as well as the overall management of the laboratory. This stringent inspection program is designed to specifically ensure the highest ongoing laboratory standard of care for all patients.
