American Film Actor Kris Kjornes to Audition for L.A. Opera's "Il Postino" with Headliners Plácido Domingo; George Gershon Conducting
Kris Kjornes, primarily a film actor, takes a much-needed hiatus from the studio system by leveraging for a role in L.A. Opera's 2010 production of "Il Postino" (the postman) staring the great tenor Plácido Domingo.

For Kris Kjornes however, he's taking a "different" approach to obtaining the much-needed exposure his career desires.
Kjornes who has acted in more than 20 films such as Idiocracy, The Alamo, Barry Munday and the recently finished, Transformers 3 as Robert F. Kennedy; And has been focusing attention to much loftier goals than your average actor. Reminiscent to Woody Allen's approach in directing the opera "Il Trittico," this had apparently inspired the actor to turn to a much more diverse market for showcasing his talents.
"Opera is a whole different beast all together, and it's like charting a course through newer and more exciting creative territories." Kjornes states.
Could it be that the economic climate for actors in Hollywood have forced the "up and comers" to consider alternative ways of exposure? Reality T.V. sure isn't breaking new ground!
"There are hundreds of companies out there that exploit hard working talented actors and actresses for money. Modeling agencies, submission services and agencies that charge bogus fees to 'create' your image." Kris continues. "A lot of these are scams."
Tried and true methods of sleeping with ill-fated celebrities, sex tape scandals, getting caught at the right time in bad publicity stunts are old hat. An actor has to be versatile, exploiting an image or style that pertains to something original, rebellious, emo, classic or retro and breaking through the obstacles to achieve higher levels of exposure.
"Exposure is the name of the game. (Il Postino) This will allow me to perform in front of 3 thousand people, on stage with Plácido Domingo, of course I'm excited!"
As many other actors look for the next great medium to showcase their talents, it will open the doors to maybe, "YouTube: The Opera" starring Paris Hilton.
