America First or Last Movement's World Top 20 Education Poll: US are Not In It
Canada is rated as the world's number one educational system. Base on their elementary and middle school test scores in math, reading, and science; and their completion rates for high school, college bachelor and graduate degrees.
- (1888PressRelease) March 21, 2012 - The America First or Last Movement (AFLM) announces it will publish an annual Top 20 poll to rank the world's top educational systems. With this poll, AFLM will produce the world's first tracking method to monitor the progress of countries in elementary and middle school levels in math, reading, and science, high school graduation rates, as well as, college bachelors, and graduate degrees into a single ranking system, to gauge their workforce potential.
AMFL plans to start the poll on January 1, 2013. Data for the poll will be composed from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) which ranks 65 nations in their annual index report. Combine with the United Nation's Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) 54 member's countries education results, and the U.S. News World's Best Universities Rankings.
These scores will then be culminated by a scale of 20 to 0; twenty points for ranking number one, to zero points for ranking outside the top 20 in any of the 4 categories. The most stunning results from the poll's design, is the United States would not rank in the top 20. The current US elementary and middle school scores and secondary and post secondary rankings, suggest they will be left out.
Albert Mitchell II, Organizing Director of AMFL said, "Traditionally, most educational poll rankings of countries are founded on one to two tiers. The America First or Last World Top 20 poll will merge results from 4th graders to young, or older, adults receiving their graduate's degrees. Affording us a genuine opportunity to analyze how productive country's educational systems and philosophies are. Which helps reflects upon their possible emergence in economics as a nation in the 21st century."
Mr. Mitchell said, "For instance, right now, Canada would rate as the world's number one educational system. Base on their elementary and middle school test scores in math, reading, and science; and their completion rates for high school, college bachelor and graduate degrees. What's disappointing is our educational activity has been ineffective compared to other nations. And now, we can substantiate it."
