Amber Alert GPS Wins Best of State(R) Utah Award for Applied Science/Technology
Amber Alert GPS, the leader in child tracking and family safety, wins third Best of State Utah award for the Applied Science and Technology category.
- (1888PressRelease) May 09, 2012 - Amber Alert GPS (www.amberalertgps.com), the leader in child tracking and family safety, is a winner of the Best of State® Utah award in the Applied Science and Technology category. This is the third win for Amber Alert GPS in this category, which provides products that allow children the freedom to explore the world without sacrificing safety. The Best of State Utah awards recognize Utah businesses, organizations and individuals who have made significant and innovative contributions to the quality of life in the state. Amber Alert GPS is being honored, along with fellow winners, at the Best of State Gala on May 22, 2012.
After briefly losing sight of his son at an amusement park, Utah native Russell Thornton founded Amber Alert GPS to help parents easily keep track of children without impeding their freedom. Combining GPS technology, simple-to-navigate online portals and mobile apps, Amber Alert GPS gives parents the ability to wirelessly track and be notified of their child's location at nearly any time, providing peace of mind.
Amber Alert's newest device, the Amber Alert GPS V3, allows parents and other caregivers to monitor their child's location via a parent-friendly, secure portal that can be accessed from www.amberalertgps.com. This portal gives the option to set up specific "zones" around locations a child frequents, such as the baseball field, babysitter's house or school. An email or text notification will be sent to parents each time their child enters or exits a designated zone. Rich in features, the V3 device also includes integration with the National Sex Offender registry (notifying parents when their child is within 500 feet of a sexual offender's residence), speed alerts (letting parents know if their child is in a vehicle traveling faster than they would like), as well as an SOS function which enables kids to simply press a button if they need to call for help. For busy, on-the-go families, Amber Alert GPS also has mobile apps that allow parents to view children's locations, providing family freedom without compromise.
"We are honored to be recognized amongst these fellow outstanding businesses, especially in our home state," says Carol Colombo, CEO of Amber Alert GPS. "Helping make the world a safer place for children is our mission at Amber Alert GPS, and this award is a testament to the continued hard work of our staff and partners to continue making that mission a reality."
Amber Alert GPS is also eligible to receive the Best of State Statue in the overall Science and Technology category. Winners for the Best of State Statue will be announced at the May 22, 2012 Best of State Award Gala, which will also honor all the Best of State award winners.
