Altizon Systems enables India's Smart City revolution at India m2m+iot forum 2015
Altizon will be launching its Smart City Initiative at India m2m +iot forum, by launching India's first Aliot Smart Grid Appliance (Aliot-SGA) with in-built support for smart grid infrastructure powered.
- (1888PressRelease) February 21, 2015 - In a smart city, technology runs itself and manage cities resources efficiently. Altizon Systems believes any Smart City project can be fast tracked only if we leverage IoT and M2M technologies.
Enabling India's Smart City revolution: India operates the 3rd largest transmission and distribution electricity network in the world, yet faces a number of challenges including, inadequate access to electricity, supply shortfalls, huge losses, reliability and theft. The evolution towards smart grid will seek to address these issues and transform the existing network into a more efficient, safe and reliable grid that would provide electricity access to all.
Implementation of smart grid appliances will allow utility companies to automatically collect and analyse data from every meter, to not only ensure accurate billing but enable the key quality improvements sought from the smart grid. It is estimated that India will install 130 million smart meters by 2021.
A key statistic to note from Centre for Science and Environment that buildings in India consume around 40 percent of total energy generated, and 20 per cent of water. McKinsey has estimated that India can save around US$ 42 billion every year with efficient management of lighting, heating, air-conditioning, etc.
Smart building technologies reduce maintenance costs by 10-30 percent, and enhance occupant's comfort, health and safety. We listened to our customers throughout the development and design process of the Aliot Smart Grid Appliance (Aliot-SGA) and created a meter that meets mechanical, functional and ergonomic requirement of today's utility industry.
The Aliot-SGA is connected to stream data to Datonis™ platform running 24×7 on the cloud or deployed locally in smart cities and townships. This data gets recorded every minute and can over time be scaled up to add additional energy metering modules. This will ensure reliable real-time monitoring of all energy consumption parameters.
Internet of things (IoT) will form the backbone of smart cities and is the fundamental building block to effectively address core problems like theft, quality and waste of energy. With this approach we can enable India's Smart City revolution beginning with this launch at India m2m + iot forum 2015.
Let us meet at India m2m + iot forum, Delhi, from Feb 19-20, 2015 email at www.altizon.com
