ALR Raises Awareness for Barefoot Kids Charity
The Association for Lifestyle Reform (ALR) is a member-based association that provides educational information and access to a number of discounted lifestyle benefits to its members.
- (1888PressRelease) September 11, 2010 - Ontario, CA - One way ALR accomplishes its mission is to highlight and support charities that improve the lifestyle of others. This month ALR is beginning a new partnership with the Barefoot Kids Foundation (BFK), a charity that provides $25 Payless Shoes gift cards to children in need of new footwear.
President and founder of ALR Brad Wessler and BFK founder Dan Ross are working together to raise funds throughout California for the Barefoot Kids charity. A spokesperson for ALR said, "It is a shame that so many children in the developed world walk barefoot, but we are in the process of providing "happy feet" to those kids."
Dan Ross and his wife Loretta started the Barefoot Kids Foundation in 2007 after hearing from their son, an elementary school teacher that many of his students came to class wearing battered shoes that had belonged to their older siblings. Some of the children had never owned a new pair of shoes. BFK now aims to give new footwear to the 14 million children in the US, according to the National Center for Children in Poverty, who are underprivileged, distressed or live below the poverty level.
ALR is excited to sponsor a charity giving a simple but important gift-shoes-that will change the lives of the children who receive it. To support BFK, visit their website, http://www.bfkids.org , or the ALR website: http://www.alrassociation.org .
