Allow More Time At Temporary BKK Immigration, Document Legalization Centres
Citing the ongoing political protests in the Thai capital, the Legalization Division is now providing its document legalization services from a location within Esplanade shopping complex on Ratchadapisek Road. The anti-government protests have already seen Immigration Division 1 have to set up temporary offices to handle Thailand work permit, visa and other processes.
- (1888PressRelease) April 25, 2014 - Bangkok - The document legalization service is available on 'G' Floor at Esplanade between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm Monday to Friday, according to a notification from the Legalization Division. The service is not available on weekends or public holidays.
The notification dated March 23, 2014 carried the following information regarding the document legalization services available:
• Express service is limited to 100 applications per day until 12 pm noontime
• Normal service is unlimited, with applications closing at 2 pm
• Express service is THB 400 per legalization/certification
• Normal service is THB 200 per legalization/certification
• For home delivery, postal service (EMS) is THB 60 extra
As it does for foreigners visiting the temporary immigration offices for 90 day report, Thailand work permit, Thai visa service or other reasons, leading international law firm in Thailand BSA Law advises people to allow extra time than they would if visiting the normal document legalization location.
Noted BSA Law spokesman Apisakdi Kongkangwanchoke: "These are temporary service locations and depending on customer flow at any given time, it may or may not take longer for a person to complete their required process or processes. Allowing more time could prove the wise option."
With the permanent immigration office at the Government Complex Center in Chaeng Wattana remaining closed, temporary immigration offices are in operation at:
• Major Hollywood Suksawat - 1st Floor, Suksawat Road, Ratburana, Bangkok
• Imperial World Ladprao - 5th Floor, Ladprao Road, Wang Tong Lang, Bangkok
Service hours at these locations are 10.30 am to 6.30 pm Monday to Friday. They are closed on official holidays.
